The Guest Room - Wednesdays @ The Claremont Hotel

Posted in Gigs, News on October 21st, 2008 by Matt

Time to tell you about a little (ad)venture that myself and ambrose are undertaking. It is in the form of a night for local Perth musicians to perform their stuff in a chilled out little corner of a creaky 100 year old pub known to most as The Claremont Hotel. Every Wednesday night from 8pm we will be hand-picking the finest, most talented Perthians to put on a show for you. Best of all, it won’t cost you a single Australian dollar (currently worth around a single US cent). The night is called The Guest Room and is running from the end of October until Perth stops producing good musos (so, I’m thinking that might mean forever).

The reason why I mention this here, of course, is that we happen to both be members of the band to which this website revolves around. In a bizarre case of incestuousness gone horribly wrong, we also happen to be playing at the opening party for said local music night. So ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you:
The Guest Room Opening Party - Wednesday the 29th of October at The Claremont Hotel from 8pm.
Featuring:
The Disguise
Mayuka
Ben Juengling
plus Special Guest DJ iPod.

Be there… or be busy that night.

The Disguise is currently featuring on the Triple J Unearthed Jukebox with “As Close As I Will Get”. Go ch-ch-ch-check it out and leave a (positive) review.

For all of you East-Nedlands posse and other fans of Yacht Rock, we have a show coming up in the intimate surrounds of the Mounts Bay Sailing Club on Friday the 8th of August. Supports will be The Thrilldeness and Next Big Thing stars My Mad Flow.

Will also be rocking the Rosemount a couple of weeks after, with dates to be confirmed.

Finally, we’re currently working on a few demo tunes which will be finished shortly. End transmission…

Stuff Happened

Posted in News on March 29th, 2008 by Matt

Ok so some stuff has happened. First, the good(?) news, we’re playing a gig at the UWA Tav on the 18th of April supporting The Wilderness yet again. More good news, we’ve recruited the talents of Ms Ash Hendriks to take over some bottom end, guitar and vocal duties. Disco.

The EP is also mastered and ready to rock. We just need some artwork completion and disc pressing before you can get your hot little hands on one. Expect a release in the next month or so. Thanks to J Stack and his Moss St Productions.

Now I spose it’s time for the bad news. Unfortunately, Benny J has had to leave his post on the Bass Gittar and Vocals. Those who are following his work from their computer chair my find his remaining talent spread between kudos fiasco and broken april.

A Disk… Guys

Howdy ch’all!

The moment you’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. After roughly three years in the making, The Disguise will be hitting the studio to record their first disk.

Recording will wrap up around mid-January, so expect an EP filled with all your favourite shmindie-pop tunes by early next year!

ROCK ‘n’ ROLL

Semi-Final date - be there!

Posted in News on July 5th, 2007 by Matt

Greetings disguise town. We just got some more details on the Semi-Finals for the next big thing. The show will be on Friday the 20th of July and will be at the amplifier bar (in the city on Murray Street). We’re on around 10ish, but come early and support all of the bands -they’re all very really very very, ridiculously, good looking.

Speaking of good looking, we also have an acoustic show coming up on the 29th of August at the Swan Acoustic lounge. We will be playing with Good Little Fox and Sir Thomas, so come down for your daily acoustic fix. You know you want to.
