British India Support

If you’re free this thursday (23rd of April) come down early (I’m talkin 8:30 early) to Mojo’s to watch us supporting British India and The Reserves. Word of warning, entry is 25 clams (I know, pretty steep in these troubled times - but hopefully K Rudd has stimulated you all by now so you’ll have plenty o’ cash to spare).

Speaking of Eastern States supports, we’ve managed to pick up a splendid gig down at the Norfolk basement with none other than Jamie Hutchings of Sydney’s Bluebottle Kiss! It’s on Saturday the 16th of May. Come one, come all, some people (mainly me) are already calling it the gig of the year. At least say you’re attending on the facebook event.

Time to tell you about a little (ad)venture that myself and ambrose are undertaking. It is in the form of a night for local Perth musicians to perform their stuff in a chilled out little corner of a creaky 100 year old pub known to most as The Claremont Hotel. Every Wednesday night from 8pm we will be hand-picking the finest, most talented Perthians to put on a show for you. Best of all, it won’t cost you a single Australian dollar (currently worth around a single US cent). The night is called The Guest Room and is running from the end of October until Perth stops producing good musos (so, I’m thinking that might mean forever).

The reason why I mention this here, of course, is that we happen to both be members of the band to which this website revolves around. In a bizarre case of incestuousness gone horribly wrong, we also happen to be playing at the opening party for said local music night. So ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you:
The Guest Room Opening Party - Wednesday the 29th of October at The Claremont Hotel from 8pm.

Norfolk Basement This Friday

You may have noticed that the little gig calender thingy on the top right-hand side of our site is looking a little bit different these days. Well, that’s because has some gigs on it for a change.

Here’s the deets:

Sunday the 21st of September at the Hyde Park Hotel, North Perth, from 6pm with The Veescars, Auf Wiedersehen and Mezzanine.

Thursday the 2nd of October at Mojo’s Bar, North Fremantle, from 8pm.

Friday the 17th of October at Ginger’s Gallery, Northbridge.

Saturday the 18th of October at the Swan Hotel, North Fremantle with Avatar. (UPDATE: Whoops, we had to cancel this show. Sorry!)

So come along and yell “play your new stuff!” really loudly from the back of the room.
